So you want to get involved with our cycle hub ?
There is always something going on within the Hub, from night riding courses to fixing bikes in the workshop, and from Sunday cycles to kids evening skills courses. There will be something for you to get involved with. For whatever reason there is not, then please ‘get in touch‘ as we are always willing to talk to you and take on new challenges and try new ideas.
We are always putting on new events and always look to get new people involved with the Hub, whether that be teaching, mechanic’ing, organising and running events. If it’s anything involved with getting people into cycling we are interested!
If you do fancy helping out then head over to our Volunteer Section to find out how you can get involved and help us.
We cater for all cyclists of all abilities, so whether you have not cycled before, in a long time or have lost the confidence to, do not fear. You are most welcome here, and we will do everything we can to help you get cycling. We even have a tandem you can go on with a more experienced cyclist.
At the minute we have a Sunday cycle, the first Sunday of every month. It has three rides for different abilities/lengths.
There are plenty of fantastic cycle routes around Coupar Angus which makes our town an ideal spot for a Cycle Hub. Check out our cycle route section for some informative and inspirational routes to get you out and about on the bike.
Hire a Bike
Not everyone has a bike, so if not you can hire one from us to help you explore the area, or join in on one of our cycles.
Bikes to hire :
Hybrid type bikes (Comfortable bikes that are for leisure rides, more fun than serious)
Tandem (For two people to use and enjoy double the efficiency)
Electric bike (Not confident you can cycle the whole route? take the electric bike for back up)
Folding bike (Cycle to the bus/train, then use it when you get off again. A simple, compact, and fun solution to efficient commuting)
More bike hire options coming soon….
We have the facilities to fix your bike, teach you how to fix your bike, and soon enough allow you you fix your own bike.
We have qualified mechanics who are able to teach you some skills so that you can become more independent, fix your own bike and this should give you a more confidence to go for a cycle, knowing that you could solve a problem yourself.
We are currently building up a fleet of bikes, most of which are kindly donated bikes. If you have a bike you would like to donate then please get in touch. They all will be used to benefit the community and help to get more people on bikes.
Our Workshop sessions are every Wednesday afternoon 2pm – 5pm. Situated behind the Limetree restaurant in the cross.
We will be putting on bike maintenance/mechanic sessions throughout 2015 so if you want to pick up some new skills then register your interest HERE
