ABC (Alyth Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus) campaign cycle is taking place on the 1st of April (Not an April fools) to raise the awareness of the need for safer roads for ALL road users.
In collaboration with ‘We walk we cycle we vote’ we are wanting local candidates running in the upcoming elections in May to come along and see what we are campaigning for and it gives them a chance to talk to cyclists get an idea of what is needed, what is already being done and demonstrate that they are willing to help make a difference.
The ride will start at the Cross in the centre of Coupar Angus at 10am and cycle in one big group to the wellmeadow cafe in the centre of Blairgowrie.
There will be an option to cycle further after a cuppa at the wellmeadow which will give people more time to talk with local candidates and get your views/thoughts and ideas heard.
Details on both parts of the cycle will be posted up soon.
Please spread the word and get as many people along as possible to help make our roads safer for everyone!
All sorts of bikes, from road, hybrid through to Electric, trikes and tandems are available to hire from the Coupar Angus Cycling Hub from £10 so email firstname.lastname@example.org, book through the website, call 01828 958 296 or pop in to see the hub (In the cross, behind the Limetree Restaurant in Coupar Angus)
Even though this will be a ride in the daylight, I would urge everyone to bring at least a rear light and or reflectors, as well as wearing hi vis jackets and helmets to help promote safe cycling.
Feel free to adapt your bike and put signs to let road users know what you are doing and why you are on the cycle.
Many thanks and look forward to seeing you there.
