Jenny tough - Bikepacking solo and racing the silk road
SATURDAY 29 JUNE 5.00PM
COUPAR ANGUS CYCLING HUB, PH13 9AL
The Coupar Angus Cycling Festival 2019 presents an evening of adventure and endurance with Jenny Tough.
Doors open at 4.30pm. There will be a bar but please bring cash.
Jenny Tough is an adventure traveller and endurance challenger, exploring the world and in particular mountains through human-powered challenges. In 2018, she surprised the ultra-distance bikepacking world - and herself - when she finished as first female in the intrepid Silk Road Mountain Race, an off-road unsupported race in the Tien Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan, which took her 13 days to complete. Her win came swiftly after finishing as second female in the Trans-Atlantic Way Race, an on-road 2500km bikepacking adventure on the west coast of Ireland.
In addition to racing, Jenny has travelled over 40 countries by bike, exploring both on and off-road with an increasingly lighter setup. She's racked up a few good tales and tips along the way, which she will share with us at the Coupar Angus Cycling Festival.
Jenny believes you’re tougher than you think, and through her own adventure challenges hopes to inspire others to get outside of their comfort zones and find their own adventures.
Tickets for all events are also available from the Coupar Angus Cycling Hub during opening hours.
