The Cateran Sportive

The cateran sportive : 21st of september 2019

Taking in many of Eastern Perthshires quiet and scenic roads to create the Cateran Sportive. With redesigned routes for 2019, the 80 miler has plenty of challenges and the 40 miler lets riders relax a bit more and set their own challenge.

This event is both challenging and scenic. It is mostly on quiet country roads and short spells on three A roads. The route winds its way over 1900 metres in height in and around the Cateran Trail hence its name.

Both routes start and finish in Coupar Angus and the good news is that to begin with its nice and flat to get the legs warmed up before you make it out into the hills beyond Kirriemuir. This is where the scenery and the quiet roads make you feel like you are on a serious adventure....oh wait you are. The undulating hills give every rider their own challenge, whether you are trying to get round as fast as possible or out for a chilled ride with some friends looking forward to the next food stop (With Amazing homemade pancakes).

The event will be fully Marshalled, signed, timed for those that want it, will have medic and mechanic backup with good food and water stations on course.
